Magician R.C. Bose

Magician R.C. Bose was born on May 30, 1970, in the small village of Nattuvathukkal in Perinad Village in Kollam District, to Ramakrishnan and Shantha. The two brothers were interested in magic since childhood. They started performing magic from the fourth grade. They completed their education at Keralapuram Government High School and T.K.M. Arts College, and also obtained a K.G.T.E. Diploma in Painting. Since childhood, he thought only about painting and magic, which became his life and profession.

His first performance at the Jackson Club in Keralapuram at the age of 15 was a surprise. With both stage magic and close-up magic as his main areas of expertise, he formed the group 'Nattuvathukal Magical Entertainers' in 1987 with a ten-member troupe. The troupe, which has performed shows all over Kerala, has today toured over 10,000 venues in India and abroad. National level magic conventions were organised in 1996, 2019 and 2025, bringing together magicians from all states of the country in Kollam district. In 1998, he became a registered artiste with the Song and Drama Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, and has been promoting awareness programmes on various subjects through venues.

Bose transformed magic into an instrument of social change. Since 2013, in collaboration with the Kerala State AIDS Control Society, he has performed at thousands of venues in the state with HIV awareness magic shows. From 1997 to 1999, he performed at more than 300 venues across India, delivering messages on social issues through magic. He created the show 'Mayajal' and a two-hour full-length magic drama 'Aitihya Jalam'. In 1998, he established the 'Nattuvathukal Magical Academy' to provide a platform for magic studies and research. In 2000, he started 'Vismayam Magic Shop' and entered the field of manufacturing, distribution and sales of magic equipment. He is the founder of Kollam Magicians Association (KMA) and the director of Vismayam Magic Shop.

Bose's performances touch the society through mentalism, close-up, illusion, birthday shows, party shows, product launches, festival shows, and awareness shows. The shows, which discuss social issues under the theme 'Truth and Fake', have become trending in Kerala. He is famous as 'Invisible Hands' and has authored the books 'What is Magic? Why? How? and Divine Miracles? Why?
